I would like to share another method of doing a maintenance topknot for your shih tzu. This is a easier as compared to the first Maintenance Topknot article I published last year. Simply follow the images provided in this article and with a little practice, you can make a nice maintenance topknot for your shih tzu in no time.

Hi Felipe, make sure your puppy is already used to the sound of the clipper. You can do this by turning the clipper on and slowly introducing it to your puppy. It’s like letting your puppy feel that the clipper will not hurt her. In case you get a positive reaction from your pup, praise her or give her treats as a reward.

  2. I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO TRIM BETWEEN THE NOCE AND THE MOUT, I USE A SMALL CLIPPER BUT MY SHIH TZU MOVES TO MUCH I THINK HE DOESN’T LIKE HOW IT FEELS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS A EASY WAY TO DO THIS.

You can use scissors but if your pup is not used to trimming the hair in the lips, I suggest you use a clipper just like in this link: http://petnessandbeauty.com/product_info.php?cPath=68_73&products_id=365
